SPRINGETTSBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A 61-year-old man died Sunday afternoon following an assault at pub in York County.

Police responded to Barracuda’s Seafood Pub located along the 2200 block of Industrial Highway in Springettsbury Township just before 10 p.m. Saturday for a report of two patrons fighting.

Officers found the victim, Thomas Reinoehl, 61, of Springettsbury, unconscious inside the entrance to the bar. Police said Reinoehl’s head was laying next to an ATM machine and he was bleeding heavily.

Authorities learned that before the assault–Reinoehl was speaking with 31-year-old Rudolph Bandjough’s fiance at the bar, according to the criminal complaint. As Reinoehl walked away, Bandjough followed him to the front of the bar and forcefully pushed him from behind, court documents state. Reinoehl fell and struck his head on the ATM machine.

He was taken to York Hospital with serious injuries. Physician’s at the hospital told police that there are no indications of brain activity and that it is not likely that Reinoehl will survive, according to the criminal complaint. Reinoehl died Sunday at York Hospital around 5:03 p.m., according to the York County Coroner’s office.

Bandjough, of York,  was arraigned early Sunday and is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault. He was taken to York County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
