FAIRVIEW TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A 38-year-old man was arrested last Thursday after police said he assaulted a woman at a York County motel and threatened her with two machetes.
Edward M. Gornik, of no fixed address, is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned and taken to York County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Police responded to the Scottish Inn along the 300 block of Commerce Drive in Fairview Township on Thursday night for a reported assault.
Gornik allegedly beat a woman and threatened her with two machetes, according to police reports. Investigators recovered the machetes at the scene from a bystander who was able to secure them.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 6.
